Jared Hill Memorial Fund
The Jared Hill Memorial Fund has been wrapped up, and thanks to generous contributions from the community of Gordon Head and the GHSA, we were able to raise more than $10000 for the purpose of financing new home/away benches.
Jared was a member of the club for more than a decade, and we hope that this gesture will provide a lasting memory that is enjoyed by future players of all ages.
We would like to specifically thank the Hill Family, Tony Melendez-Duke, the bottle drive volunteers and the hundreds of donors who made this donation possible.
Sincerely:

LISA approves membership of amalgamated Gordon Head and Cordova Bay Soccer Clubs
After months of work by the Boards of the Gordon Head Soccer Association and the Cordova Bay Soccer Club,
the Lower Island Soccer Association (LISA) approved membership for an amalgamated Gordon Head and Cordova Bay Soccer Club at the LISA AGM on May 18th.
This is an important step in our ongoing efforts to integrate the youth soccer programs from the two clubs,
and removes the final barrier to fielding amalgamated teams for the 2010/2011 soccer season.
We would like to extend a special thanks to all of the Board members, parents and players who have helped move this initiative forward,
as well as the support of the other Clubs in LISA.
Gordon Head and Cordova Bay had already fielded joint teams in 2009/10 under a temporary arrangement with LISA and have already
integrated player evaluations and team formation activities in preparation for next season.
The Transition Committee and the Board of Directors will continue to research next steps and engage the membership to identify and address concerns.
At a future date, both Clubs will need to call a Special General Meeting to seek their members endorsement for the new organization.
An open house is scheduled for June 5th 9am-noon at the Tyndall Clubhouse. This is also the last weekend to register and pay for youth
fees for the 2010/11 season and payment will be accepted at the open house. Refer to the registration section of the website for specifics around registration deadlines.
If you have any questions about the process, please attend the Gordon Head AGM on May 25 or the Cordova Bay AGM on June 3.
Stay tuned for more information on the Gordon Head or Cordova Bay websites, as we will be posting further information in the coming weeks outlining the amalgamation process.
