Information for the Remainder of the Season
and Next Season Preparation
Posted the week of Feb.21st

A lot of new info has been posted on the lowerislandsoccer.com  website about Spring travel teams and individual training sessions- assessments for u11 and u12 Super Series, Super Y League for u13 to  u16, DDC training, etc.

Please refer to the lowerislandsoccer.com website on a regular basis  as this is the hub site for most if not all of the extra available opportunities sponsored by our governing body (LISA).

BCSoccer.net is even more detailed including info on the Community Coaching Clinics in the fall (not posted yet). GHSA hosted 50+ coaches last year and we plan on doing the same in Sept. 2010.

Coaches - get your applications in for next seasons coaching selections asap to your co-ordinators. Deadline is March 1st.

On-line registration for next years soccer season will be available  in late March.

Spring Break Camps March 8th-12th and 15th-19th at Tyndall Turf run by worldcupsoccercamp.com

Spring League runs April to June at Tyndall and Hampton - info at  unitedsoccer.ca

Spring and summer goalkeeping opportunities at gkwars.com with  Trevor “Hollywood” Stiles. The Sunday nites sessions at Tyndall continue with Trevor, see GHSA website.

We are planning on running player assessments in April - tentatively next years u12 and u13 before our April 16-18th Jamboree. And the older youth age groups after the Jamboree.

GHSA Jamboree April 16th to 18th - we are expecting a lot of out-of- town teams for some great competition. Volunteers are still needed to ensure a successful weekend. To volunteer apply on-line through the GHSA website.

Our GHSA Annual General Meeting is tentatively scheduled for late May. If you are interested in becoming more active in the club next season, email me through the GHSA contacts list. You can be invited to sit in on an upcoming Board meeting in April or May. This will give you the opportunity to get a feel for current club issues, operational needs and future plans of soccer in our community.

Best of luck to all teams in the final few weeks of the regular season, Provincial playdowns, District Cup, VISL and LIWSA Cup and sanctioned tournaments.

Best of luck to the individual players who are trying out for District Rep and Provincial teams.

I’m only an email away.
Yours in Soccer,
Tony Melendez-Duke
President GHSA
